Australia's largest Wi Fi zone opens

Everywhere Internet has just opened Autralia's largest Wi Fi zone. The zone is situated in and around the Broadway Shopping Center in Sydney and provides seamless Wi Fi broadband throughout 49,000 square meters.

The Wi Fi zone provides both free and paid broadband access to mobile device users. Advertisers sponsor free access to their sites.

Martin Rushe, CEO of Everywhere Internet says "Handheld Wi Fi devices are coming, look at the success of the Apple iPhone. Combine them with our free and paid Wi Fi zones and you've got a great customer service."

Everywhere Internet wins national QANTAS contract

Everywhere Internet has signed an agreement to be the exclusive provider of Wireless and PC kiosk internet services in all QANTAS Domestic Airport terminals. The service will be branded QANTAS Connect powered by Everywhere Internet.

QANTAS Connect gives QANTAS travellers cheap, pay-as-you-go, roaming broadband in all QANTAS Domestic Airport terminals. The service is available via Laptops, PDAs, smart phones and high spec PCs positioned conveniently around the airport.

QANTAS Connect users will also have access to Everywhere Internet's national network of access points, kiosks, Wi Fi hot spots and Wi Fi hot zones. The service is already running in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

Macquarie Bank buys 20 percent stake in Everywhere Internet

Macquarie Bank subsidiary, Macquarie Technology Finance, has bought a 20 percent stake of Everywhere Internet. Andrew Gee, Managing Director of Macquarie Technology Finance, has joined the board of Everywhere Internet which now includes a number of high profile executives including Mark Korda, founding partner of of Korda Mentha, who has also bought a strategic stake through investment company 333 Capital.

Respected retailer joins the Board of Everywhere Internet

Everywhere Internet is today pleased to annouce the appointment of Mr. Craig Watkins (pictured left) as Chairman of the Board. Group CEO, Martin Rushe (right) said "Craig is a respected national retailer and a tremendous addition to the company". In his previous role as Managing Director of the Coles Myer Liquor Group, then Australia's largest liquor chain, Mr. Watkins grew the business to 630 plus stores and over 5,000 employees.
